Note from iWay: When a hard drive is installed on the S3 for the first time, please make sure that no data is on the hard drive. Once the hard drive is connected to the computer/laptop, S3 will divide the hard disk into 2 parts; public and private partitions and format the hard drive using the FAT32 filesystem. One is visible and the other is invisible (called X-Zone). Information saved in X-Zone is not accessible without access keypad password. When unlocked, it displays as an extra drive partition, which is handy for hiding private data. You can also set the size of the private partition using the software provided. After the partitions are created using the software provided you can use the device as a normal enclosure on other computers without installing the software again.

S3 enables to partition the hard disk into public and private (X-Zone design) part. Each part shares half storage capacity.

Furthermore, unlike the regular encryption enclosure box, S3 enclosure encrypts information saved in X-Zone with unique security code, which is called S-Code design. People without the specific access are not allowed to decrypt S-Code or access to X-Zone part.

S3 creates world’s first keypad password 2.5” HDD enclosure and this is the only method to access to X-Zone. Therefore, information saved in X-Zone is under 100% protection.
